Accessibility
We want Aperto to be usable by everyone, regardless of ability or device. This statement describes where we stand and how to reach us if something gets in your way.
The standard we aim for
We build toward the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA. Aperto is in early development, so not every page meets that bar yet — but it is the target we design and test against.
What's in place
- Semantic HTML with a clear heading structure, so screen readers can navigate each page.
- Full keyboard access to navigation, menus, and interactive controls.
- Text that scales with your browser or system settings without breaking the layout.
- Reduced-motion support: the animated hero is replaced with a still image when your system asks to reduce motion.
- Light and dark themes that follow your system preference, with text kept at readable contrast.
- Correct language markup on every page, including right-to-left rendering for Arabic.

An ongoing commitment
Accessibility is not a one-time checklist. As we add books, audio, and features, we test and revise — and this statement will be updated as things change.
